What Happens After 50

Last August I turned 50, there wasn't a big party with black balloons, gag gifts, or jokes poking fun at my newfound ability to go to the Golden Arches and get my AARP discount on coffee. The truth is it felt like any other day in my life. I didn't feel older than I did when I turned 21 except that getting out of bed made my feet hurt for the first 10 steps as I waddled across the floor until all of my tendons and muscles stretched out enough to walk normally down the hall toward the bathroom.

I have always known people who hit milestone birthdays and they seemed to be going through some existential crisis at 25, 30, 40, and beyond, which I can say never really happened to me. Even at the big 5 OHHHH it just felt like another day, and then I thought out loud looking in the bathroom mirror "Now What?". I'm 50 and while I've led a very good life to this point, I don't know what I want or how to get it. I wonder if is this just me, or do most people hit a point in their life where they question everything?
